Entry Eight – getting better at CSS

CSS skills are improving. I’ve conquered the <div> tag mastered the Hashtag…perhaps I should give some credit to Twitter for my mad hash-tagging skills. I’ve placed pictures in separate  <div>’s on my ‘Flora & Fauna’ and ‘Business Directory’ page. For my ‘About’ page, I inserted a You Tube video within a separate <div> which is located within my Content <div>. Within the ‘Visitor’ page, I inserted a map, also in a separate <div> within the content <div>.

Paula showed me how to disable CSS properties, such as color by making it a comment. She showed me how to do this efficiently on Dreamweaver, though many properties were also disabled manually, such as background color, because few <div>’s actually needed background colors.

Once I learned how to disable properties, and rebuild them, this made choosing colors a lot easier. I was able to use the RGB (Red, Green, Blue) feature and the color picker in Photoshop to pick colors previously selected from my screen shot of Kuler.Abobe.com tool.
